It hasn’t been talked about much. What better way to get ready for the big game, than to spend it playing on the hills and trails of the Mt. Washington Valley? Weather Report Up to 6″ of new snow fell on Tuesday and Wednesday across the Mt. Washington Valley. Last night the groomers were out in full force providing perfect packed powder conditions all around. Perfect cruising groomers on the hills and smooth, wide skate lanes on the Nordic trails. It doesn’t get much better. Looking ahead to your weekend, you’ll be looking at perfect bluebird days. It’s the type of ski days you dream about. We hope to see you this weekend. Fun on the trails in the Mt. Washington Valley isn’t just about gliding and sliding. Jump on a snowmobile for some horsepowered fun. Imagine how far you can go and all the sights you can see aboard a snowmobile. Miles and miles of trails lead to and from the Mt. Washington Valley, and the eight snowmobile rental and touring companies have everything you need including rentals, guided tours and outfitters. Ski for Health & Wellness One of the things we love the most about the snow sports community is the spirit of camaraderie. The friendships made last a lifetime and the community is always there to pick others up. It is in that spirit that two events are coming up this month to help raise awareness and funds for disease prevention and research. Go Red for Heart Disease at Great Glen Trails, Feb. 2: February is heart month! Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer in women? Red is the color of the day, so come wearing your best red sweater or outfit and receive 50% off trail passes, rentals and a Go Red Dress pin. Help raise heart disease awareness. Hope on the Slopes at Cranmore, Feb. 12: This Race to Beat Cancer event is a family-oriented event where participants enjoy the camaraderie of a day on the slopes and also raise funds to support the activities of the American Cancer Society. Whether you’re a recreational skier, a snowboarder, a downhill racer, a tubing enthusiast, or just want to help in the fight against cancer, you can join this worthwhile event. Valley Girl Videos Hang out with “Valley Girl” as she takes on the adventures of the White Mountains! Every week she will be taking on a new adventure and letting you see it from first person view! Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. Each Monday, a new prize is posted on the Mt Washington Valley’s Contest page on the website.  Each Friday, one lucky winner is drawn randomly to win the weekly prize. Prizes include pairs of lift tickets to one of the Valley 7 ski resorts, 6 XC Centers or other winter adventure opportunities. MONTHLY CONTESTS: Each month, a different prize package will be offered combining lift tickets or trail passes with gift certificates to restaurants and stores in Mt Washington Valley.  All photos are accepted, and those depicting winter adventure, family fun in the snow or even fun with Fido are all encouraged.
