Details on where the $$$ is going…
CONSTRUCTION: We are building an adaptive sports and recreation center for individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities here in New Hampshire. There are none like it in New England. Through grant money, events like this one, and generous donations, Phase 1 is pretty much wrapped up (winterization and expansion of an existing building). We are now focusing our fund-raising on finishing our barn, with a court, climbing wall and stalls.
PROGRAMMING: We will continue programming in the summer of 2014 with our social skills/adaptive PE/therapeutic horseback riding program for children attending School Administrative Units 9 and 13, as well as the Fryeburg, Maine district. Through grant acquisition, this programming is free of charge to the children attending. For the 2014 summer we will add on a Friday Night Social/Dinner for high school students on the spectrum.
The mission of The Laura Foundation is to provide funding to develop and support therapeutic recreation and educational programs that enrich the quality of lives of individuals with autism and/or seizure disorders. With your help, we are reaching our goals!
