Snowvillage Inn in Eaton Center, NH is pleased to host the art of Gay Freeborn June 5 through August 5, 2014. The opening takes place on Thursday, June 5 from 5-6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public.
Freeborn was born in Palo Alto CA and has resided for over 35 years in a small town in the mountains of Maine that serves as her inspiration for her paintings. She studied art since childhood, and attended Moore College of Art in PA as well as classes locally and at Community Colleges. Freeborn’s paintings are done in oil on canvas, linen or wood panel and convey with urgency the motion, shape and appreciation for animals. She uses under painting, thinning mediums and thick over painting to sculpt her subjects on the canvas bringing them to life in an unconventional form. Freeborn’s work is shown in numerous local galleries and centers. She is currently working on paintings for a children’s book.
“We are very pleased to have Gay’s work here at the Inn. Her love of nature is a terrific fit to the beauty of the Inn and its surrounds,” says Jen Kovach, Owner/Innkeeper at Snowvillage Inn.
