Join the cast and crew of “Dracula,” as well as the board of directors of M&D Productions, on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m., for “An Evening With Vampires.” An interactive event to learn about M&D’s upcoming production of Dracula, and to understand more about the iconic vampire in general.
Local film and theatre critic, Alec Kerr, will provide a presentation entitled “The Many Fangs of Dracula” including clips of “Dracula” movies throughout the years and discussion of material. Laura Cummings, of White Birch Books, will also be in attendance with a display of the many facets of Dracula/vampire themed literature.
There is no cost. Thrillingly themed food will be provided.
The upcoming production of “Dracula,” stars Dan Tetreault as the Count, Mary LaRusso as Lucy Seward, Ken Martin as Dr. Van Helsing, and Eric Jordan as Renfield.
Lucy, whose father, Dr. Seward, the doctor in charge of an English sanitorium, has been attacked by some mysterious illness. Dr. Van Helsing, a specialist, believes that the girl is the victim of a vampire, who is at last found to be a certain Count Dracula.
The play also showcases Gregory Charette as Dr. Seward, Josh Lambert as John Harker, Janette Kondrat as the maid, and Ryan Orlando as Butterworth.
“Dracula,” adapted and revised by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston from Bram Stoker’s novel, as directed by Richard Russo, runs Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 2 through Oct. 18. All performances will take place at Your Theatre, home of M&D Productions, located at 1857 White Mountain Highway in North Conway.
