Conway Community Celebrations Committee is planning to reinstate the parade as part of the slate of holiday related activities held traditionally in Conway Village the first Saturday of December. Businesses and individuals seeking to participate in the parade should visit www.mwvpa.org to register; click on “sign up to participate in the holiday parade.”
“This is a great opportunity for businesses to promote themselves and to support the community,” says Jessica Whitelaw, member of the committee. “We also welcome community organizations and individuals who want to simply come out and be part of this event.”
All floats are required to have a rail around the entire float at least 24 inches high to prevent children or adults from falling off. Creativity, costumes, music and lights are encouraged. There will be judges who will award money prizes for the most creative top three entries.
There will be holiday activities preceding the afternoon parade and a tree lighting and Holiday on Ice Skating Show will follow. All events will be held in Conway Village and are free and open to the public due to business and community support provided through the Caretakers Campaign developed by the Community Celebrations Committee of the Mt. Washington Valley Presevation Association. This association’s mission is to help beautify and protect the area and to preserve Mt. Washington Valley traditions. For more information or to make a donation to this cause, visit www.mwvpa.org and click on “Become a Caretaker” or call 603-356-5701, x302.
