Conway 250th Winter Carnival

The Town of Conway, one of the 27 quintessential towns and villages that make up Mt. Washington Valley, NH is celebrating its 250th Anniversary throughout 2015. With a kick-off fireworks celebration on December 31st in Schouler Park, the 250th anniversary will be commemorated through a series of events highlighting the town’s heritage.

Everyone is invited to join in the Town of Conway 250th Anniversary specialty events throughout the year. Start by and marking your calendar for the upcoming January Winter Carnival. Held on the weekend of January 24th and 25th, enjoy more than two days of events highlighting these winter adventures and activities enjoyed throughout the Mt. Washington Valley.

Cranmore Mountain will be hosting a 250th birthday party themed Cranapalooza event on January 24th. Families will enjoy fun and entertainment at Cranmore, with appearances by C-More the Penguin, games, s’mores and more.

Other events include an ice climbing presentation by International Mountain Climbing School, including a demonstration at Cathedral Ledge. A Contra Dance and String Band concert, presented by Mountain Top Music will also be held at the Salyards Center for the Arts in Conway Village over the Winter Carnival Weekend.

Ham Ice Arena, also located in Conway Village, will be hosting a classic wooden stick hockey game preceding the Winter Carnival, on January 23rd. Plus, an open skate will will be held throughout the weekend for families to enjoy.

With a look toward vintage, the Stables at the Farm by the River B&B is offering sleigh rides on West Side Road in North Conway. Enjoy a Victorian horse-drawn sleigh ride through rolling fields as you’re taken back through history during this commemorative event.

Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel will also be offering dog-sledding demonstrations in Whitaker Woods,

right outside of North Conway Village. Learn about the incredible canine athletes that make up their dog-sled team and pet them, engage with the operators, learn tricks of the trade and enjoy a ride through the forest.
