The North Conway Public Library is pleased to invite you to the last event of the 2015 Thursday Night Program Series. Steve & Sally Swenson will present “Adventure Travels in Slovenia & Croatia,” a slide show based on their recent trip to the Croatian – Adriatic coast with its islands.
They will talk about their 2-week adventure trip “Jewels of Croatia” which was organized by the Sierra Club. It included different activities every day, hiking, cycling, kayaking and canoeing among them, and living on a boat for three days.
Steve Swenson says, that “this physical variety agreed with our aging bodies. An additional bonus was that we did not have to provide our own bikes or camping gear since we usually bring our own bicycles for a touring-camping adventure.”
They added a visit to the alpine Lake Bled in Slovenia, in the Julian Alps, which was another jewel.
Steve and Sally Swenson have retired from the local school system and still enjoy an active life style. They have lived in the Mount Washington Valley for 35 years but have been traveling all over the world extensively including many trips to central Europe and New Zealand, typically for bicycle touring and camping adventures.
The Swenson will share all of the above, answer your questions and more on Thursday night, April 16, at 7 pm at the Weather Discovery Center on Main Street in North Conway Village; no reservations necessary.
The program is free of charge, although donations to the Library are greatly appreciated. Homemade cookies will be served and coffee is generously provided by Frontside Grind of North Conway.
