Wildcat Mountain will open its summer season on Saturday, June 20 offering two major state attractions including the ZipRider zip-line cable ride and the Wildcat Express, the highest scenic gondola in the state. On Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, Wildcat will invite all dads to enjoy the Wildcat Express for free, with purchase of a gondola ride for an additional family member. Dads will also receive an additional bonus ride with the purchase of one ride on the ZipRider.

Located in the White Mountain National Forest, Wildcat Mountain is renowned for its unparalleled scenery with views of the Presidential Range including New England’s highest peak, Mount Washington. Visitors can opt to enjoy these views with a high-speed ride on the ZipRider or at a more leisurely pace on the Wildcat Express.

The ZipRider descends nearly a half-mile and reaches speeds of 45 miles per hour while riders fly up to 70-feet above ski trails, treetops and the rushing water of the Peabody River. The Wildcat Express transforms from New Hampshire’s fastest summit quad chairlift in the winter to the state’s highest scenic gondola during the summer months. The four-passenger enclosed gondola cabins transport guests to the mountain’s 4,028-foot summit where spectacular views await.

“While we’re known for our big-mountain skiing and riding during the winter, summertime is when the mountain truly comes to life,” said Brian Heon, Wildcat Mountain’s general manager. “We’re looking forward to another great summer season and can’t wait to kick it off by celebrating all the dads out there on Fathers Day weekend.”

The ZipRider & Wildcat Express will operate daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 20 through Labor Day and then weekends only through Columbus Day during the fall foliage season. Wildcat Mountain also offers hiking, a lift-serviced 9-hole alpine disc golf course, and weekly, guided tours along with outdoor interpretive programs offered by the Tin Mountain Conservation Center and Appalachian Mountain Club. Wildcat’s base lodge café serves a lunch menu and “Lunch & Ride” packages.
