Climate Change Impacts on Winter Tourism in NH being presented Dec. 16

A program on climate change’s effects on winter tourism in New Hampshire will be presented from 11 a.m. – 12:00 noon at Mount Washington Observatory’s Weather Discovery Center in North Conway Village.

Breanne Torrey, Executive Director of Jackson Ski Touring Foundation; Vince Spiotti, Director of Lodging Operations for Appalachian Mountain Club, Jessyca Keeler, Ski NH Executive Director and Rep. Ed Butler, innkeeper at Notchland Inn will be panel presenters at the “Climate Change Impacts on Winter Tourism in NH” workshop. The program is sponsored by League of Conservation Voters.

The roundtable program will include perspectives from the alpine, x-c skiing, and winter sports communities as well as business leaders to describe the cultural and economic impact of climate change on New Hampshire’s North Country.

Climate change action solutions such as the EPA Clean Power Plan and greater investments in renewable energy sources will also be discussed.
