All Aboard the Autumn Express!

Sponsored by the Conway Scenic Railroad, this special excursion through Crawford Notch on Sunday, October 16, will be hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Mt. Washington Valley and the Mt. Washington Valley Habitat for Humanity.  The event is a fundraiser to benefit local families and children’s charities supported by these non-profits, and the public is invited to participate.

The train departs from the Railroad’s North Conway station at 11:00 a.m. and returns at approximately 4:00 p.m. Included in the excursion is a photo “run-by” at Willey Brook Bridge and an hour’s layover at Crawford Station, which is across from Saco Lake, a small pond from which the Saco River originates. Passengers are encouraged to get off the train, stretch their legs, and explore their beautiful surroundings.

Coach tickets are $54.00; First Class $69.00. Included in these fares are appetizers, desserts, and a souvenir photo. Children under 13 ride free in Coach when accompanied by a paying adult. Passengers have the option of ordering a hearty box lunch prepared by Brandi’s Pizza Pasta Grille for $14.00, bringing their own picnic, or ordering from the onboard snack bar.

“This event has enjoyed tremendous support from the community over the years,” according to Janice Andrews, President of the Kiwanis Club.  “Both host organizations offer special thanks to the Conway Daily Sun, 103.7-The Peak, Magic-FM, and WMWV for helping us to publicize this event.”

Habitat President Dick Ficke added, “We hope that folks plan to join us again this year for a fun-filled day that will benefit these two very worthy organizations.”

Seating is limited, and advance reservations are recommended. This event usually sells out.   For more information visit or call (603) 356-5251.
