M&D Playhouse Presents ‘Avenue Q’

Visit M&D Playhouse in North Conway on scheduled dates in May and June to experience the production, Avenue Q. Avenue Q is an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and is based upon a Book by Robert Lopez and Jeff Whitty, and the winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. M&D Playhouses’s adaptation of this play is directed by Christopher Bellis and is the fifth production in their 2017 series of eleven plays about relationships.

Avenue-Q-PosterThe laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college graduate named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children’s show; a place where puppets are friends, monsters are good, and life lessons are learned.

Avenue Q is presented at M&D Playhouse Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from May 18th until June 3 at Your Theatre, Willow Common, 1857 White Mountain Highway in North Conway. All performances begin at 7:30 PM.

Guests may purchase food and beverages from M&D’s Culture Café during or before the performance. The Café opens 45 minutes before performances and offers light snacks, coffee, soft drinks, wine, beer, and liquors.
