October News from White Birch Books

The staff of White Birch Books just returned from their annual New England Independent Bookstore Association Trade Show in Providence. It was three jam-packed days or books and authors and lots of conversations about books and authors.

This year the trade show held special significance to North Conway’s independent bookstore as owner Laura Cummings was elected president of the NEIBA Board. Laura has served on the Board for the past two years and has gotten to know many people throughout the New England bookselling world and is very much looking forward to her presidential stint and getting to know even more about the business she loves.

ONE BOOK, ONE VALLEY!
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 AT 7 PM
KENNETT HIGH SCHOOL

This is the 12th Annual One Book One Valley program and this year’s book will be THE ONE-IN-A-MILLION BOY by Maine author, Monica Wood.

The mission of this program is to strengthen community ties and promote literacy through reading and discussing a book with a theme that resonates locally. The vision: Imagine if folks throughout Mount Washington Valley read the same book. Then talked about it. And THEN got to come together to meet the author at a special valley-wide event. One Book One Valley is successful because of you, the individual reader, and YOU, our community of readers, coming together.
