New Event Date for the 16th Annual Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament

While the 16th Annual Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament was originally scheduled for Friday, June 16th, Mother Nature had other plans! The rain date for this year’s tournament is Tuesday, July 25th at the North Conway Country Club.

Join the Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce, golfers near and far, and event sponsors for a day of golfing fun. This tournament is a fun scramble format tournament for golfers of all abilities. Players are welcome to register as individuals for $120 per person or as teams of four players for $400. To register, visit www.golfmwv.com or contact Scott Gleason at 978-758- 1039.

Registration for the event opens at 7:45am and runs until 8:50am, with announcements following registration and a shotgun start at 9:00am. There will be 5 hours of play time and a barbecue to follow the fun at 2:00pm. The awards ceremony will begin at 2:45pm.

mwvcc golf tournament.pngLast year’s popular Event’s Punch Card returns for this tournament and can be purchased for $25 with your online or day of play registration. The card allows entry to various on-course events and includes raffle tickets, mulligans and, NEW this year, the Hole #10 Golf Ball Launcher sponsored by Eastern Propane & Oil to exclusively benefit MWV Leadership scholarship assistance programs. You get to shoot your own ball, hopefully, onto the green 354 yards away.

In addition to awards, and raffles, there are many “Hole-in- One” prizes to win, sponsored by members of the community. Crest Auto World is sponsoring Hole #4, where the first player to hit a hole-in- one will win a 2017 Fiat 500. Profile Power Sports is sponsoring Hole #13, where the first player to hit a hole-in- one will win an ATV. Other Hole-in- One prizes include a set of Titleist Irons, and a $750 Gift Certificate for North Conway Country Club Pro Shop.

“The annual Chamber golf tournament is all about having fun. While we’re all there to play, and improve our handicap, we get to enjoy friends and colleagues, a fantastic course, delicious lunch and a fun event to spend time with Dad,” says Scott Gleason, event coordinator for the tournament.

Golf sponsorship opportunities are open to businesses looking to maximize their exposure in front of the community, with a fit for any budget. Businesses can have its name and logo on tee signs, the golf tournament website and more, depending on what level of participation business owners are interested in.

Theater Night with The North Conway Public Library

You’re Invited to Theater Night at the Eastern Slope Playhouse
Presented by The North Conway Public Library
August 12th

At 6:00pm, Enjoy…
a cocktail party, mixing and mingling with friends and neighbors, sample terrific food, listen to beautiful music, provided by The Mountain Aire Strings, and maybe purchase  items in a silent auction, all to support your local library.

At 7:30 p.m., Enjoy…
the Eastern Slope Playhouse will present a performance of “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” a fun and entertaining, Tony Award-winning musical!

This musical comedy centers on a fictional spelling bee set in Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by three equally-quirky grown-ups. They learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.

It is a hilarious tale of the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

The ticket price of $50 includes the cocktail reception with champagne punch, a delicious array of appetizers and desserts from the finest local inns and restaurants, musical entertainment by The Mountain Aire Strings, and a show stopper performance of Putnam County Spelling Bee.

You also have the opportunity to join us for just the cocktail party, the spectacular food buffet, silent auction and The Mountain Aire Strings performance. This option for $25 is particularly appealing for theater season ticket holders who still want to sample the terrific foods available in the Valley and support your local library.

That night, the Library will also raffle off its big summer raffle prize, the “V.I.P. Winter Summit Trip for 2 up Mount Washington” This exciting grand raffle prize, courtesy of the Mount Washington Observatory, has a value of $440!

The second prize is a photo by local master photographer Kathy Bergeron, printed on canvas; as a third prize, the local favorite coffee shop Frontside Grind has donated a $25 gift certificate to our raffle.

Tickets for the raffle are $2 each, or 3 for $5, or 7 for $10.

Tickets for Theater Night and for the raffle are on sale now at the North Conway Library on Main Street in North Conway Village.

Please join us for this delicious and entertaining event which is a major fundraiser for the library. Contact the Library at 603-356-2961 or check www.NorthConwayLibrary.com for more information and to reserve your tickets.
